I personally am not inconvenienced by the new scheme, but on the other hand
there's nothing wrong with old stuff that works. I assume that it will still
be possible to recompile the kernel with fixed units as desired.
Maybe someone who's seriously motivated will figure out a way to have
loadbsd slip in a table of manufacturer IDs and units, for advisory
purposes during configuration. It would have to be pretty slick, but
if it were also good for swap and root partition configuration, it might
sell.
